RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. What is means that if you download an application called an RSS or XML reader, you can then have sites that are RSS enabled sent to your reader.

For example, if you sign up to News sites that have the RSS or XML symbol, you can have the news headlines sent directly to your reader as soon as they appear on any website that you have subscribed to.

When it comes to blogs, if I enter www.cwscribbles.blogspot.com/atom.xml, I will get my site coming up in my reader. All blogger sites are XML so that I receive a copy of your posting on my desktop as soon as you publish it.

May I suggest you look at www.rssreader.com and download the reader so that you can play around with it.

I should add that I only worked this all out yesterday!
